Reuben, however, scarcely noticed the changes, so absorbed was he in young Realf. Occasionally the boy would turn his head on his shoulder and rashly contemplate the Backfield pew. Reuben invariably met him with a stare and a scowl."Yes, De Boteler," continued the lady, "I will write to him, and try to soothe his humour.
